Just a small minding to show our appreciation during our stay at both East Wing and Glen Lyon. Very comfortable stay.P & C, Gibraltar
Stayed at both of Lawers Self Catering properties, Glen Lyon and the East Wing, whilst commuting for work purposes in Fife. Both properties were spotlessly clean and maintained to an exceptionally high standard with everything and more provided for. Glen Lyon is set in rural surroundings with a beautiful garden which is lovely to sit out on a summers evening, normally with a G&T in hand... Both properties are ideal for getting out and about in Fife with good travel links to Edinburgh. Margaret Cunningham, supported by her husband Neil, is the perfect hosts with nothing to much trouble. I would definitely recommend Lawers Self Catering to any visitors to the Fife area and would like to thank Margaret and Neil for making my stay so enjoyable.
This is to thank you for the stay – all great and the house had everything we needed.
I was looking for somewhere to take my grandchildren for first week in July for the start of their holidays. This is a little gem of a place. It is only 6 miles from Kirkcaldy and in the country but easy to access from A92 which made it easy for travelling to places out and about. We went to Sea World. North Queensferry, Edinburgh, The Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies, up the coast of Fife, Craigtoun Park St Andrews, and Dunfermline not far for meals (Frankie and Bennys) and just along the road we found Cluny Clays (especially for the children). We used this house as a base and did tourist things during the day. The house has a lovely garden which hubby enjoyed when waiting for kids to wake up in the morning. We used the summer house in the garden to eat our "chippy" on Friday night from Lochgelly. If you book this house you won't be disappointed. It is a home from home, fully equipped, plenty of space, everything you need.
We love our holidays to Glen Lyon. It's perfectly situated in a rural zone half an hour from Edinburgh airport. The nearby village of Cardenden, 1 mile, boasts a great variety of shops including Tesco, Boots and The Co-op, plus a number of quality take-aways. A short drive takes you to Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.
There are lovely new public swimming pools in both Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes, the latter being 10 mins drive from the house. The kids love days out to Cluny Clays, Odeon cinema complex and Lochore country park. The house is spacious and maintained to a very high standard. We have been guests of the landlady for 8 years and she looks after us really well - every effort is made to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and some more.
We enjoy all of the comforts of home including Wi-Fi, landline, Freeview, DVD, washer, dryer, dishwasher and ample fridge/freezer space. Not to mention the fantastic gardens. Looking forward to our next trip.
I think this would be an excellent place for business people to stay on a long/short term basis. I found that the house was very well provided for, the little things were considered, and that it was very comfortable, quiet and conveniently located. Sophie
Accommodation was perfect for our company, including WiFi.
We have stayed with Mrs C. several times over the years, and after a break from Scotland we were looking once again to stay in Fife. Glen Lyon was perfect and the accommodation is of a very high standard and extremely comfortable. Every conceivable item one needs can be found in the house. It is nicely situated, in a rural country area, and within easy distance of all tourist areas. The house is set in a beautifully laid out garden with even a decking area and Summerhouse for the guests use if required.
We have no hesitation in recommending Glen Lyon for a good holiday or longer stay.
My husband and I stayed at Glen Lyon in April this year. A large 3 bedroom semi detached house with a lovely big garden and drive. The house was super clean, fresh & tidy and had absolutely everything we needed; definitely home from home!! It has all the amenities you need for day to day living. There is also Wi-Fi which is very handy. The house isn't far from local shops, takeaways etc with easy access to the A92. Yet the house is in a peaceful quiet rural country area which is lovely. The owner is also very helpful and made sure everything was ok for us during our stay. Would definitely recommend this house to friends and family.

My 8 year old son, when he joined me for a week's holiday,
Had the "best time ever."
Feeding carrots to the sheep was a definite high light.
It was a pleasure to stay in Glen Lyon for a week.
We were four, a child included and there was everything you need to feel at home.
Well situated to visit Edinburgh, a loch and Saint Andrews.
We would be happy to come back on our next working trip.
Thank you Margaret for making everything easier for my family.
